Why GOT is better

Not enjoying this show for a multitude of reasons, but my biggest complaint is that there’s just no one to root for. Every main character is a detestable POS. Rhaenyra, Aegon, Aemond, Daemon, Cole were/are all utter psychopaths. Allicent is a wooden, scheming ass, Corlys just plain boring… Even though some of the minor characters are likeable, the main ones are scumbags. I’m half hoping the dragons just roast the whole continent and say fuck this place, let’s go hang out in Old Valyria. The show needs a Jon Snow, or reformed Jamie, Tyrion, Brienne. I know the point is that the Targaryens are a race of murderous psychopaths, but even the Hightowers and Starks are nuts. Even though GOT found its footing because it featured deeply flawed scheming characters, it was easy to like something about them. Only Jon was a classic Tolkien-like hero, but the drama with GOT stemmed from not knowing who to like more in a given situation.

Does anyone else feel this way? What other qualities does this show lack that early GOT had in spades?
