Leave a data hybrid desk job to become an LPN?

I’m 35 with a bachelor’s degree in Human Services and some social work coursework. I’ve worked office/corporate jobs for about 10 years. Currently, I work for a large grocery company, make $28.75/hour, and work from home 3 days a week. It’s a pretty comfortable job, and my raises are usually around $1 a year.

The problem is my company has been laying off departments like crazy, and I’m worried mine could be next within the next year or two. I also feel like I need to increase my earning potential, so I’ve been considering going back to school to become an LPN.( been thinking about this for years, I was also a nursing student advisor for a few years)

My biggest concerns are my age and the physical demands. I’ve been behind a desk for 10 years, so I’m wondering how difficult the transition would be.
(I’m so used to sitting down, being on feet for long periods to time is tough 😬)

I also worry about giving up my current work-life balance. Working from home 3 days a week is hard to give up!
For anyone who has made a similar career change, would you leave a comfortable $28.75/hour hybrid job to become an LPN? Was it worth it?
