Worth selling retro consoles?
I'm sure this question has been asked here before but everyone's priorities are a little different so figured I may as well toss it out there. I'm currently trying to downsize my collection, sold my 3DS and GBA a few weeks ago originally intending to replace them with a DS Lite (I rarely played 3DS games and didn't like using the device for emulation). I also currently own a PS2 and hacked Wii that I only use to play GCN games. Neither consoles get much play but I like having the option to dive into older games if I ever get the itch.
Since selling my 3DS and GBA I've fallen down a bit of an SBC rabbit hole and am wondering if it would be worth selling my Wii and PS2 and consolidating everything into one device. Right now I have my eye on something from the Retroid line (likely the RP5 or Nova) with the dual screen add-on and a dock so I can still get the console experience. I don't really care much about above-native resolutions or framerates (would be nice obviously but not a necessity for me), mainly I just want a device that can emulate games with no noticeable difference in input latency vs. original hardware. I play a lot of twitchy action/platformer/rhythm games on all libraries I've mentioned (GBA, DS, PS2, GCN) and am pretty sensitive to lag, and my main worry is that I'd sell my consoles only to replace them with something that feels worse to play. I also haven't looked much into controller options for docked which I know is another factor. Would love some input here!
