Why does M&KB suck so bad

I just recently started playing after not playing since pretty much release and had something to say about the game.

As a PC gamer I tend to gravitate to using KB&M as my selected input but with this game it's sooo bad I feel the only input method that makes this game enjoyable is a controller aside from more precise aiming there is absolutely no reason to use KB&m. The flight controls are abysmal but with a controller it's actually usable and fun. This is my biggest gripe with the game since it's what you're spending all your time doing lol.
