Hi fellow Redditors 👋

I forked **SpotUI** and reworked it to use a **Spotify Web Player backend through Firefox** to make **SPOTISHIT**. I also added a pretty aggressive amount of caching, so after things are loaded once, the app should feel a lot faster.

Fair warning: I completely broke SpotUI’s default music-provider configuration in the process 💀 so **Spotify is the only supported provider right now**.

For the app to work properly:

1. Tap your profile picture in the top-left.
2. Go to **Settings & Privacy**.
3. Disable the other playback-related options.
4. Make sure these are enabled:
   * **Persistent Spotify Cache**
   * **Spotify Web Playback**
5. Tap **Open Firefox Spotify Player** and log into your Spotify account.
6. Play any song.

After that, playback should work normally through the app.

The app may ask for **microphone** and **screen-sharing permissions**. You do **not** need to grant either of these. They’re basically leftovers from the current beta implementation and I’m still cleaning things up.

# Known issue

**Auto-download after play does not work yet.**

I’m trying to get that working and I’ll update the app once I figure it out. DeepSeek was giving me some absolute nonsense while I was implementing it 😭

This is still very much a **beta**, so if you find any bugs or have feature requests, drop them below. I’ll try to fix/add whatever makes sense.

(haven't done any battery optimization either soooo)
