Self-contained vs D75

Hello everyone.

I am a dually-certified sped and gen ed teacher B- Grade 2. I worked in DOE in an ICT (NEST program) and also as a gen ed teacher. I recently transferred to a self- contained classroom in a community school due to the move.

I also had an offer for D75 position K-Grade 2. I had a very good rapport with the hiring committee and they invited me to apply next year if I wanted to switch schools again. I never worked in D75 before and was wondering what are some of the pros and cons vs a community school?

1 Con that I noticed is that they had a 2hour 50 minutes work day vs 2 hours and 20 minutes in a community school. Is that how all D75 schools operate?

1 Pro for me is that those kids are on alternative assessment which a lot of the times is more appropriate for students with severe disabilities.
