Are there writers here who don't care about making something new?

Question

One of the most common values I came across when reading about writing advice is whether a piece of literature has done something in a new way (in tandem with it being interesting, well executed, memorable etc).

Novelty and new-ness in writing is important (and achievable) but its far less important to me. I'm more interested in making my work authentic, immersive, cohesive and such than I am making sure it's new. You can say i can achieve all of those things while striving for something new and you'd be right. I still wouldnt really care because negating newness wouldnt really hurt my work. Its traditional in too many ways but at least it works in my work. Striving for newness is unnecessary

Does anybody here feel similarly? If not then I get it, but im looking to see how rare this position is. Lots of people are in a personal crisis over the topic of originality but novelty discussed as much.
