Recent SABIS UAE teachers – accommodation, salary and experiences with racism?
Hi! I have an interview with SABIS for a teaching position in the UAE and would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has worked for them recently (2025/2026 if possible). A lot of the information I can find online is several years old.
I mainly have three questions:
Accommodation: What is the accommodation currently like for teachers in the UAE? Do you have to share an apartment, and if so, how many people do you share with? Do you get your own bedroom and bathroom? What are the apartments themselves like, and are they generally in decent locations?
Salary: What salary are they currently offering teachers in the UAE? If you’re comfortable sharing, what was your monthly salary/package, and were there any bonuses or allowances? Were you able to save a decent amount after your expenses?
Racism/discrimination: For teachers of colour, particularly Black teachers, what has your experience been like working for SABIS? Have you experienced differences in salary, treatment, school placement, promotion opportunities, or how management/parents/students treat you compared with white/Western teachers?
I’m especially interested in current or very recent experiences, since I’d like to understand what working for SABIS in the UAE is actually like now rather than relying on older reviews.
Thank you!
