Flex 3 Red bluetooth icon?

I can't seem to get the bluetooth working. I opened the case (after charging), nothing happened. Tried pusing the button for long, nothing happened. It shows a red bluetooth icon - which obviously is bad, but what does it mean and how to activate it??
