for the entire two years we've been together, we've had a bit of a routine. we worked similar schedules, and almost every evening we would hang out.

he got a new job working 4pm to 12am, no days off, and now I never see him. it's only been a week and a half, but it's really bothering me. I feel awful because he's obviously trying to better his life, and I don't want to seem needy, but I feel very forgotten about. I haven't seen him in over a week, and we've barely talked. I got so used to the routine.

not only that but my adhd brain is terrible with object permanence, and having not seen him for over a week... I kind of forget he exists. not in an intentional or cruel way, but now I've just been getting on with my own life. and I have so much more time and energy to put towards my own hobbies and I'm not constantly dealing with his problems or adapting to his needs... it's actually kind of nice. I feel very free.

I'm simultaneously lonely but also enjoying the spare time I now have to work on the things that I actually want to do. and I feel like a complete asshole for wanting to leave him because he's just trying to get his life on track. but I'm realizing just how much effort I was putting into our relationship at the expense of myself; something he doesn't take into consideration at all, and the resentment is just bubbling up

bf got a new job and I want to break up with him
