Should I take this job?

I like the company I work for currently. I’m making a semi-comfortable living and I like what I do each day. I don’t feel I’m fully appreciated for what I bring to this company.

I am currently finishing the interview process for a company that’s notoriously hard to work with in my area. However, they’re offering a $5 per hour pay increase in comparison to what I’m making now.

Should I pivot and work for a company that is hard to work for with better pay if they offer me the role? Or should I stay put where I am and hope that they’ll maybe give me a raise when my annual review comes around in October?

My current company is small and doesn’t offer much opportunity for growth. Someone would have to quit before a role with higher pay would open up for me here. And that’s not happening anytime soon because people are looking to retire out of this job.

This small company hasn’t been a cake walk to work for, but it’s a familiar chaos and I like my team. I just want to be more respected and paid better for what I bring to the table.

I’m 27 and I don’t want to waste this opportunity because I’m comfortable where I’m at and I like my team members.

Should I take the leap or stay put?
