Male vs Female AP

Workplace Question or Advice Needed

Do you guys store have any female AP team members? My etl-ap and I were talking about this yesterday, and I am curious about everyone else experiences.

The store where I trained for tss had a female tss. She was really cool, and other tms seemed to be very comfortable going to her with situations and talking to her about things. She was good at deescalating tense situations, too. I feel like being a woman would work to one's advantage better than as a guy in AP because women could come off as less intimidating, I guess.

For those of you working at a store with female AP, do you think they are more approachable and that works to their advantage? Do they hold their own and demand respect?, or are they more reserved and less confrontational?

As a guy tss, I sometimes feel like people get automatically defensive when I have to approach or start conversations for whatever reason on the sales floor. Almost like they are expecting trouble when I come up to talk to them. I think being approached by a female tss would make some people less on edge. What do you guys think? If you work with any female AP members, how do you see them acting when it comes to protecting authority or deescalating? Do you feel more comfortable talking to them over a male? Do they seem weaker or more respected?
