My doctor said there’s no point in getting an eds diagnosis. Is this the norm?

General

In my younger years I was told I had double scoliosis and hyper mobility, although I wasn’t officially diagnosed with anything. I’ve done PT off and on since high school for back and joint pain, and my PT recently asked me if I had eds. I didn’t know what it was, but when I looked into the diagnostic criteria it seemed like I probably do have it. So I brought this up to my pcp, and she looked over my symptoms and said “yeah it seems like you probably have it.” So I asked if there was a specialist or someone I could see who would diagnose it, and she said “Well, there’s not really any point. You’re already doing physical therapy and they can’t really do anything else for you.” And if that’s the case, I don’t understand how or why anyone gets diagnosed? I did press her on it and she said she’d refer me to a rheumatologist, but that they might not take me. Am I being silly pursuing a diagnosis? Because that’s kind of how I’m feeling right now.
