How this preload changes virtually nothing in disfavour of us

Discussion

Okay, yeah, he isn't playable in 7.0. We knew that for quite a while since the beta came out, so, boohoo. I myself was always rather doubtful on the Mistiltein theory because of how the Chinese translation used Mistletoe, which didn't have the same connotation as the Icelandic(not to be confused with the traditional Norse mistletoe) sword of Thrain. Is it a coincidence, probably not, but I myself never though too much about THAT particular theory since finding out about the translation.

So, why is this preload actually not of any detriment to him coming back. Simply look at Mavuika. She kept on being emphasized that she will die before becoming playable. So why is Capitano the same?

Well, previous story mentions and the unchanged dialogues are a good way to look at it. They kept on dropping hints about Capitano for absolutely no reason. The line about separating souls? Thinking back to Capitano during 6.6? And Sandrone not mentioning him whatsoever in 6.7?

Think about it, why would Hoyo suddenly change their way of things? If Capitano is dead, guess what, Sandrone can just discuss it during 6.7 like she discussed Odette, Signora, and Pulonia during the tea party.

Why would they do this? No, we can ignore all the files and models and animations and stuff. Why would they decide to suddenly change how they are talking about Capitano when literally in 6.7 they didn't do that and instead added yet another not-mourning+present tense line about him instead from Sandrone?

Simple, to divert hype. Think about it, do you think as much of the community would pull for, I don't know, Odette, if they knew Capitano was a few patches ahead? Not necessarily.

Few other things I noted in the preload, at least in act 1, is that there are no mentions of the pyro gonsis, despite the emphasis it was given in the teaser. Capitano's transfer of troops to Tartaglia is apparently very widely known but him being kept as number isn't according to the fatui and Monsdadt. Why? Why would the Tsaritsa not openly commemorate him?
