Left Behind by Friends In a Movie Theater

I was hanging out with a friend/online mutual (Manfred for clarity) and some friends in a car. We were driving in a city I haven't been to, when I looked up, there were giant cigarette boxes on the ledges of skyscrapers. We were going to a fashion movie opening. I got out the car first but then couldn't find my friends who I arrived with. Later, while walking in the theater a short Asian woman named Alice greeted me like we knew each other and invited me to come. She went ahead into the theater aisle, but when I tried to follow she was gone. I left the theater to look for my friends I arrived with but they disappeared. There was another event in another part of the theater but I did not have a ticket. I wondered if Manfred was in the back of the theater sleeping laying down, wearing boots, but I couldn't tell who it was.

I'd appreciate any interpretation help! My friend thinks it show some fear of abandonment, which I can see.
