PCOS support
Hello, I (F27 going 28 soon) have diagnosed PCOS and one symptom is severe hirsutism (major hair growth on the face). I wanted laser but that’s classified as cosmetological so PC doesn’t support that, and apparently i even need PCMO approval regardless. I wrote a personal statement to OHS that the PCMOs have sent for any form of support I can get.
I will keep it super brief as I not want to get toooooo personal on why i need it, but it’s not only for aesthetic reasons. My current treatment plan with the PCMOs is not fully helping and the methods i have to add to my treatment that the PCMOs told me to continue with are actually causing new skin issues. I have also had men come up to me and say that I am not really a woman because of my condition, among other hurtful situations.
Has anyone had any similar experiences regarding sending a letter to OHS for extra support? I feel that my chances for approval are not high but you lose every opportunity you don’t take I suppose.
I understand why approval from them is needed, however, what’s frustrating is not being able to even support myself, because despite stating that I could pay for it myself, they still need to say yes.
