People who review books are full of shit. I review books.

I am having a difficult time lately with my book picker. I decided not to finish it. It was an ARC and I gave it 1 star because that's how it works on NetGalley. Here is my review:

I can't finish this book - it's terrible.
Eve Sinclair - wonderkind police detective, the bestest smartest ever at 26 yrs old, is given her own department because she is so special, is investigating a murder where her boyfriend has been pinned due to a partial fingerprint. He has been arrested, but it's not considered a conflict of interest because reasons. She walks into the police station, demands she meet him alone in an interrogation room, turns off the camera and fucks him because he's just that hot. This is at 7% of the book, so we are at some kind of record for quickest panty removal.
Her BFF is the coroner, ME and crime scene analysis, the youngest and brightest ever, because that's how things roll in New York City of the future.
Also, her parents were murdered and she was 'adopted' by the head vampire who is 5000 yrs old, but fell in love with her at 19, but due to some misunderstanding she left him. Something about him being 5000 yrs old and her barely of age, he didn't want her to fall for him, but it broke her heart and for the last seven years he's been pining away for her.
I'm not sure why the head vampire and head werewolf are so nuts over her, as she can't even run an investigation without being completely unprofessional in all ways.
I don't think this author has ever been to New York. At a restaurant that has a 2 year wait list, but her vampire ex is able to reservations that very night (while also paying off the rest of the guests, so they could have the place to themselves) her starter was cheesy garlic bread, which looked just like the bread sticks at Olive Garden, but probably tasted better since the restaurant was so fancy.
If you don't think there is anything wrong with the hottest manhattan restaurant having cheesy garlic bread on the menu then this is the novel for you.

it's bad. but maybe it's for you. I mean, people actually like books like Manalchemized, MAGA Elite and One Dark Window. I am ready to fight anyone who comes after my boy Seth from Zodiac Academy.

So, I looked to see what else people were saying about this book. Oh, here is a 5 star review! Maybe this reviewer saw something in this book I may have missed;

This book as an overall was very captivating! It held my attention from the start. I am team Micah! As I was reading this novel I was reminded of another series I read by Janet Evanovich, her Stephanie Plus series. Just with a paranormal twist to it! I absolutely loved it! Im not a spoiler kind of girly in reviews as I myself don't like reading spoilers, but just know that even if you weren't a twighlight person you should still most definitely read this book! I can not wait to grab a physical copy for my own shelf and I am extremely excited for the next installment! Please whom ever is thinking of reading this book, give it a chance! It will totally ensnare you from tje very start! The book is fast paced and itll have you wanting to stay up reading all night long! You wont want to put it down!!!

You know what? Never mind. Reading was a skill that probably should die out.
