The timeline begins in 1925, shortly after the death of Vladimir Lenin. After revolution, civil war, famines and economic collapse Stalin is secretly assasinated, and replaced with Kawaii Stalin, his kawaii younger twin brother. The Bolsheviks remain diverse, Bukharin, Trosky, Preobrazhenskii, Rykov, Tukhachevsky and other major revolutionaries remain politically relevant.

Kawaii Stalin is, similar to his brother, a excellent organiser and accumulates enormous influences over party appointments and the party apparatus. He centralises political Authority, decentralisation of expertise, industrialise rapidly, preserve social stability and prepare the USSR for WW2.

1925 - 1928

He continues the NEP, the state controls the "Commanding heights". The state persues ant-factionalism through institutional fragmentation rather than physical extermination, potential rivals are separated into specialised positions so political factions can't easily assemble a coalition. For example, Kawaii Stalin puts Trosky away from general leadership and towards millitary affairs. Regional patronage networks are purged, officials loyal to specific rival factions are purged. Curruption can lead to the death penalty or harsh labour.

1929 - what to do about race?

Kawaii Stalin declares race a bourgeois concept, a social construction without purpose but segregate and aid colonialism, so it is, hence therefore, abolished.

Soviets passports for example, classify citizens nationality as Soviets, whilst ethnicity remains recognised as cultural heritage and geographical origin and is protected.

Russian is the Lingua Franca, however all other languages are to be protected and encouraged.

Republics may symbolically be lead by ethnic people's of said republic, but the leadership itself is diverse, for example, in a Georgian SSR the leader may be Georgian, but the head of transportation may be from Tajikistan. It is more technocratic. Each according to their ability, each according to their needs.

Many cultures, one Soviet people

The USSR develops a unusual constitutionaly theory, sovereignty belongs to the union, but powers are devolved to republics and municipalities. Kawaii Stalin declares the people's party to be the name of the leadership. Theoretically, succession is guaranteed through popular referendum.

1928- the Great economic compromise.

Kawaii Stalin plays both Preobrazhenskii and Bukharin against eachother, giving the commanding heights to preobrazhenskii and the consumer sector to Bukharin. One aim is set for preobrazhenskii, industrialise. No Famine, limited to no coercion, not holomodor, rising living standards, all must feel welcomed in Kawaii Stalin's USSR.

The great war-

However, conscription in mandatory, military modernisation in prioritised. More diplomatic missions are sent to prepare a axis of resistance with Britian, USA France and the like, but to little to no avail. Kawaii Stalin condemns German rearmament, remilitarisation of the Rhineland, annexation' of the suddetenland and destruction of Czechoslovakia. He supports global communists, like China, but deliberately avoided full investment in Spain to avoid degrading ungoing diplomatic efforts. There is no winter war, instead very prolonged negotiations and security guarantees.

The Molotov Ribbentrop pact is inevitable, and something similar is done. However as Kawaii Stalin emphasises the poles are comrades against Facism, and workers united is stronger than a world divided. Poland is not incorporated, a polish socialist administration is placed under USSR protection. Polish communists are promoted and protected.

ONE CAUSE, MANY ROADS DOCTRINE.

Kawaii Stalin dictates that there is one socialist international objective, but different societies may develop socialism according to their needs. Poland is free to develop polish socialism however they please. Poland works in tandem with Moscow to prepare for a German offensive. No Katyn massacre. The Stalin line of buffed, poles are encouraged to become socialist, but are not forced. Workers rights are guaranteed and massive investments are made to legitimate socialism (more schools, transport etc)

Kawaii Stalin "the people's welfare is the state, and the state the people's welfare"

Universal healthcare, compulsory education, university access subsidised, pensions, disability support, maternity protection, childcare protections, worker unions and legislation, housing allocated by the state, rural electrification and robust anti discrimination protections. "This is a state for the people, by the people". Women are also funded with and by education, equality explodes. Mass housing construction begins and healthcare is to be robust.

1941 - DEFEND THE MOTHERLAND

Kawaii Stalin previously reformed the security apparatus and has multiple different analytical sources, all of which are claiming Germany is preparing for it's invasion, Kawaii Stalin listens. Mass mobilisation, aircraft disperse, factories prepare, civil defense prepared and majority production faced towards the war effort. The poles are warned and prepare. The socialists prepare and are ready.

Operation Barbarossa still sees millions of Soviets killed, tens of millions capture or dead, the Germans see successful advancements and the socialist state is devastated, but the Soviets still succeed eventually. The socialists win, and WW2 is over.

Post war-

The reforms in the USSR are enacted throughout Europe. The Reds persue massive investments in Railways, electric, universities, housing, factories, hospitals, industrial financing and push to increase living standards at all means necessary. Kawaii persues decolonisation and declares the USSR's official policy to be anti imperialist, pro self determination. Kawaii Stalin creates the ISU (international socialist union) where it coordinates trade, development, finance, infrastructure, research, industrial standards, education, energy and regional investment. Different states develop socialism as they please, some become democratic socialist states, some become social democracies, there is no sovietisation. After NATO forms, we form the Warsaw pact with our closest socialist allies. Before Kawaii Stalin dies, he achieved Nuclear weapons with the aid of socialist allies and soviet enterprise. Before he dies, we declare that all roads to socialism must prioritise the welfare of the people, the state and it's monetary institutions must never fall into the hands of financial capital, and all must provide for eachother, no matter the differences we may have. For we are one people, glory to the working class, on our road together, towards communism.

Kawaii Stalin passes away in 1962. Glory to the working class!

What if the USSR was actually Socialist?
