My dog is sick
My dog has been seriously ill for about 17 days. It started with fever, severe lethargy, loss of appetite, eye/nasal discharge and later diarrhea. She has now developed recurrent bloody diarrhea, sometimes with quite a lot of bright red blood. She is barely eating but still drinks water on her own.
She also had rapid breathing, although it has improved somewhat after IV fluids and treatment. Her gums are still pink, her fever has come down, and today her eyes/look seemed much more normal and alert.
One of her puppies had very similar symptoms, including green eye/nasal discharge and diarrhea, but has now recovered almost completely. Another puppy is still sick but seems to be improving.
Our vet suspects parvovirus, although we haven't confirmed the diagnosis yet. She is vaccinated in 2024.
Does this sound like parvo to you? And does the fact that she has made it this far and is showing some improvement give her a reasonable chance of recovery? I don't want to seem like a crybaby, but I'm sitting next to her right now, she's breathing with a rattling sound, and I can't stand it. I wanted to ask you people about it. She's 3 years old
