How do mechanics not get cancer with all the grime and chemicals they get on their hands?

Like aside from genetics, I watch car restoration videos all the time and these guys just never wear gloves. I know I'm not watching their whole life on youtube but it seems like they never get sick or anything. What's the lifespan of a mechanic?
