Flare up caused by new medication???
Hi everyone!
I am a 31F diagnosed gastritis since childhood. When I was 9 I caught h pylori and caught it again when I was 19. Admittedly, I do not take my omeprozol ppi as I should, but have been able to manage without it most of the time. A couple of weeks ago, I began taking propranolol, a beta blocker, for anxiety prescribed by my psychiatrist 2x daily. About a week into taking it, I started having the worst flare up of gastritis I have had since 2016. It is hurting all the way in my back, sides, chest and neck. Def stopped the medication as soon as I made the connection but I’m still in hell! Is there any other medications (aside from NSAID) I should be avoiding?? Unfortunately I do take NSAIDs from time to time but have not had a flare up caused by them in some time, and have been taking them way less this year. Any advice appreciated!!
