For a new Transformers show, should it have entirely original characters for the entire cast, or should it just use Optimus Prime and other well-known Autobots

The only time where the Transformers franchise used an entire cast of original characters, both for the Autobots and the Decepticons, seemed to be with the Japanese anime shows, not counting the Unicron Trilogy of course.

The US ones, however, always use Optimus Prime with a team of Autobots that seem to be a mix of old characters and newly-created characters.

The only US one I know of that didn’t exactly used Optimus Prime was Beast Wars with Optimus Primal.

Sure there’s also Rodimus Prime, but that was from Season 3 of the G1 show.
