Embassy Track] Total communication blackout from universities (Social Sciences PhD) - 1 Sept Deadline approaching. Need urgent advice!

LOPA/LOAs

Hi everyone, 🇮🇳

I am a MEXT Embassy Track Research (PhD) candidate from a social science background. I passed the primary screening at my local embassy, but I am now hitting a massive roadblock with the Letter of Provisional Acceptance (LOA) stage.

With the September 1st deadline fast approaching, I am facing a total communication blackout:

* Professors: I emailed 4-5 professors looking for English language supervision. None have responded (likely due to the summer break/Obon holidays). * Admissions Offices: I have tried emailing the Graduate Admissions / International Student Offices of my target schools, but I am getting absolutely no responses there either. * My Backup Plan Fell Through: Out of my original university choices, one is applied to, but the other two are no longer viable because one has language barrier issues for PhD supervision and the other professor just retired.

I am looking for English supervision in the Social Sciences. Since emails are failing completely and time is running out, I am starting to panic.

My Profile

Field: Social Sciences (Qualitative/Theoretical, absolutely NO economics background).

I am seeking admission in public policy program.

Language: Looking for a 100% English-taught program/supervision. My Japanese is only at an N5 beginner level.

Any recommendations for English-friendly, responsive graduate schools in Japan for qualitative social sciences?

Has anyone else dealt with a total administrative silence during August?

Any advice, strategies, or success stories from people who were in this exact situation would be highly appreciated.

Thank you!

Please Help !!!!!!!!!
