Found a second hand Funleader Artizlab 35mm f1.4 and thought I'll shoot a quick comparison here for you guys. All Images have the Lens and shooting aperture in the file name, please download to compare and make up your own mind! Most shots at wide open or f2.

The lens came with the lens hood and series 7 filter

Since I allready own and love my 35 Nokton ASPH I wanted to try the Artizlab for a more "funky" rendering wide open and yes it does have funk..lots of it, for better or worste. 

  
It is not as bad as I though but not as usable as I hoped either. 

First the positives: 

1. The lens is very well build, feels smooth and has nice aperture clicks. The focus lock is no issue for me, since just laying the finger into the tab unlocks it.

2. The size is great and the supplied hood does feel good and works well without rattling.

3. Sharpness is better than I feared, f1.4 is little softer from coma but from f2 the lens is very sharp in the center, good 3D pop/rendition at f2 too.

4. low contrast and low vignetting. Surprisingly vignetting is lower than my nokton or biogon wide open. Contrast might be nice for B/W (didnt try yet)

Negatives:

1. Lots of coma and astigmatism robs contrast and can look great but most of the time looks like absolute shit imo.

2. Shooting from f2.8 down the focus shift is so severe that I cannot use my rangefinder at all. At f1.4 it focuses correctly enough (astigmatism makes the focus have a zone at f1.4 so no sharpness plane..hard to tell same as OG Lux pre asph) at f2 it focuses correctly and has a sharpness plane but at the apertures where this lens really begins to give moderatly great performance the shift is so far off that even at 14m out at f4 your focus in the image is at 20m.

3. small lens size and clip on hood makes it unnessesarily awkward to change the aperture.

Negative #2 is the killer for this lens for me. I never experienced that aggressive focus shift and I have used and still do Zeiss Sonnar and Jupiter 50mm lenses. None of them were this unusable for me on digital but I might remember wrong on that.

The Test images try to show where the lens is best at (close up wide open) 

The most interesting IMO is the bokeh comparison (last five images). The Biogon Bokeh is also very busy and I dont like it, its typical for a double gauss design (looks very much like Cron IV) but the Artizlab takes that to another level entirely. The coma fairies on the edges are pretty cool and fun in this shot I think, not a sign of optical greatness though, lol.

Interesting is that the Artizlab Bokeh gets much smoother in the center when stopping down to f2 (less bubble bokeh, more uniform). 

The Nokton has both beat in my opinion, just love the bokeh and sharpness this lens renders.

Oh well, paid only 300 for the lens and its great fun crap lens to shoot on my Nikon Z5, dont think I will use it on the M again soon.

Hope you could get something out of this review. 

TLDR: I would not recommend this Artizlab for a cheap everyday lens.
