FYI if you didn’t know Tricare now has an FSA / HSA you can opt into while on orders https://tricare.mil/Plans/SpecialPrograms/Health-Care-Flexible-Spending-Accounts
The website is confusing and says as a reservists you need to be performing AGR duty, I spoke with the reps on the phone and as long as you are on title 10 orders over 180 days you qualify for it . So if you wish to get certain things tax free you are eligible to do this at no added cost.

Another thing unique to reservists is you are not obligated to pay back any expenses upon separation, so say you have qualifying life event 30 days before the end of your orders (I.e. marriage or birth of a child ) you can enroll and request the full HSA amount of $3,400 only have to pay two payroll deductions of $400 and theoretically could get $3k of qualified items for free before your separation date .
