Almost 2 years in . . .
I haven’t posted anything about my beloved in a while, and for a moment there, I panicked because I wondered if I was starting to forget her. But that wasn’t the case at all.
Funny thing is, I came across this realization about love and grief.
And I learned that:
Love doesn’t necessarily need a new recipient.
Sometimes the love becomes memory.
Sometimes it becomes tenderness.
Sometimes it becomes the way I raise my children.
Sometimes it becomes the standards by which I understand commitment.
Sometimes it becomes the reason I recognize how precious ordinary days are.
Sometimes it just sits quietly inside me.
And sometimes, yes, it hurts like hell.
But that pain isn’t proof that my love is failing.
It’s proof that something mattered enormously.
