I’m grateful I didn’t discover the fandom before I played Dark Souls II.

I did not choose to play Dark Souls; ’twas fate that brought us together.

I remember purchasing an Xbox 360 from a stranger on Facebook. The man arrived bearing all his games and, by some strange act of generosity, gave them unto me freely. Amongst them was Dark Souls II.

I knew not of such games, nor had I ever seen an advertisement for them. I had no knowledge that such a cursed world even existed.

It was not by choice, nor by chance alone, but by the will of fate that Dark Souls and I crossed paths.
