Differentiating the auxiliary

So I read from Jung the “doors” of the second and third functions can be closed, and while differentiating them, it feels like a breathe of fresh air, i.e. it is stimulating. How can I concretely work on developing my auxiliary, say Ni or Si? Does anyone have experience in this?
