Where Can I Enjoy Fishing In/Around Basel-Stadt?

Guten tag! I live in Basel and I would really love to find a way to do some fishing over here (or near here). Not fly fishing necessarily, but just a rod and worm. I understand that fishing has some really tight and strict rules in Switzerland, but I would appreciate any advice local people and experts on this topic have! Do people tend to go to France/Germany instead? What would be required of me to start getting involved in fishing in and around the Basel area? Thank you!
