Healthy cat now a poop pez dispenser

My 8 year old boy has started pooping throughout our apartment. It started maybe 3-4 months ago we’d start seeing random poops around the apartment, he’s a long hair so theres always been the occasional nugget that gets stuck to his fur but this was different. Now he’ll get into a trance like state, acting like he’s hungry and scratching around to get our attention and then eventually just stop where he is and start pooping. I’ve picked him up a few times in time and carried him to the bathroom where he still skips the litter and poops on the floor instead. Sometimes he’ll be sleeping on the foot of our bed and just wake up and walk around a bit and then poop on the bed, or he’ll come into the room with some zoomies , jumping up and across the bed and back down leaving a chocolate surprise in his wake. Sometimes I’ll be up early or late and here a shriek of horror from my wife as she puts her foot on small log on the covers.

We took him to the vet where I described all of this and more and the vet confirmed he’s very healthy and active and nothing seems to be wrong. We opted out of expensive tests at this time leaning more towards he’s just an a-hole. Around the time this started he also had a few incidents of poo stuck in his rectum, and the first 2 times I ended up helping by pulling it out before reading this is not the thing to do, the last few times it happened I put him in a warm tub and that worked as well. The vet suggests pulling it out shouldn’t be the cause of this after he was thoroughly inspected.

He continues to pee in the litter and eats and plays just as much as normal, no personality change. He still loves cuddles and playing fetch.

We have 2 cats, a boy and girl, boy is 8 girl is 7, theyve lived their whole lives together and still get along just fine, she uses the box just fine. We got a 2nd box when this started to no avail

we moved to a new apartment roughly a year ago, and my wife is now 8 months pregnant, we’ve considered the idea he can sense something and might be acting up.

im all out of ideas and my wife wants to get a pet psychic, anyone dealt with this or have any ideas?
