getting sick while living alone is so brutal

i caught a nasty stomach bug over the weekend and the absolute worst realization was that nobody was coming to hand me a glass of water or run to the pharmacy for me. i had to drag myself out of bed in a sweat-stained hoodie, drive to the store looking like a zombie, and stagger back upstairs with my own medicine.

when you live with family or a partner, you take for granted having someone pass you cough drops or make you soup. after that nightmare weekend, i immediately built a dedicated "sick stash" in my pantry so i never have to make a feverish run to the store again.
