Induction or elective c section?

Advice Wanted

Hey everyone,

I'm a FTM and currently 40 weeks pregnant. I had a sweep at 39 and 40 weeks and both times my cervix has been high, posterior and closed.

I really want to go into spontaneous labour, but I have an appointment booked with the hospital next week to discuss an induction. I'm going open mind, but I am concerned about the cascade of interventions that inductions can lead to and whether opting for an elective c section is the better option.

If my cervix is more dilated and favourable next week then I'd be willing to try an induction as a way to kickstart things. But if my cervix is still the same I'm leaning towards a c section.

FWIW, my pregnancy has been pretty smooth and my baby has normal growth and no issues with reduced movements. I'm really on the fence about what to do so I'd love some more perspectives.
