Bronx ED

Seeking Advice

Hey y’all, I’m about 7 months into my ED job for an inner city hospital in the Bronx. Been an outpatient nurse for 2 years before that. THERE ARE NO IV PUMPS AT ALL in my ED. The only IV pumps that I see is for the emergency/CAC bed. We free flow a lot of medications here in the ED, but when it comes to Vanc, blood, or certain other medications I prefer to have a pump. The monitors and suction in certain rooms don’t work. IV poles are difficult to come by. Nothing is being done about the lack of equipment. Is it standard for every ER room to have at least one pump, one IV pole, one functional suction system, and plenty of supplies in the cabinet?
