Question from a babyish witch about ancestor work!
Has anyone ever left an offering for someone else's ancestors to ask for their favor or assistance? The person I have in mind has lost both of their parents, and from what the person has told me, their mom really enjoyed a certain food when she was alive (to be clear I never knew her, I know about her because of the person I am referring to spoke of her to me).
When leaving the offering, I was very clear that I was not inviting her to linger in my home, but instead inviting her to have the offering and then move on. I also made it very clear that I was not binding her to me, my home, or anything like that.
This person and I are currently in at odds (I wouldn’t say we’re arguing but we’re also not necessarily cool like we used to be), and I was wondering about leaving some of that food as an offering specifically for their mom and asking her to intervene on my behalf to hopefully help soften the situation and bring me some favor in the person's eyes.
Has anyone worked with another person's deceased loved one or ancestors in this? Leaving an offering for someone else's deceased parent or ancestor and asking them to intervene or influence a situation involving that person, in your favor?
