Regained Sanity after the flip of one breaker.

First off, I know pretty much nothing about electricity and it scares the **** out me.

Well I bought a house mid 2024, and I am a pc gamer who just built a new pc. And I immediately started having issues with it. I blamed every component until I basically replaced everything. Then I began to blame the little stuff, then the internet company, then microsoft….
Something was wrong but I could barely put it into words.
It had micro stutters, dpc latency, odd monitor beahviors. Etc.

Trying several tweaks helped reduce the symptoms but it would all come back. So I decided after reading someones post somewhere to test my outlet. It had a fault “open ground”.
So i moved to a different outlet. Yeah probably should have checked that one before moving to it but I didn’t.. however one day I noticed the wiring fault light on my ups. I began to check every outlet in the house. 2 had open ground and the one I moved to had hot neautral reversed. I moved my pc again to a normal outlet. Things got better until the day I purchased a new monitor. All the original issues were back…
This all haunted me for an entire year. Replacing so many things… and thinking I am on a good outlet with no fault readings, It should be working…

Last night I decided to shut the breaker off that controlled the outlet with Hot Neutral Rev. and magically my pc showed behavior it hadn’t all year. I could confidently say it was functioning correctly and it was as clear as night and day.

I am glad I found something to actually address the issue but so confused on how this fixed it?
Also turning off that breaker some how made my bathroom light and outlet stop working too which I was certain was on another breaker.

I am going to have someone look at my electrical system but in the meantime if someone could explain what they think is happening that would be awesome!
