Best hearing aids for mild hearing loss, OTC or prescription?

I have mild hearing loss and I'm finally admitting I need something, mostly because I keep missing parts of conversations at dinner and asking people to repeat themselves on calls. I have been looking at Hear.com options along with Jabra, Audien (along with several others) but they feel like different routes based on different needs. I'm trying to figure out when better fit, speech and noise are worth stepping up from a basic OTC option. Which type of option aged the best after the first year?
