Bought a faulty car

Bought myself an automatic peugeot 208 2015 two weeks ago, for 4,000 and it was working perfectly just had a service light on the dashboard. I was driving it on friday and it suddenly started making a weird noise and stopped moving completely, engine was reving but the car wasn’t going into gear, got the car towed and looked at by the AA since i work with them and they essentially told me they couldn’t do anything and it would have to be a peugeot specialist. They also said getting an appointment with a peugeot specialist is incredibly hard since the car has no history being serviced by peugeot themselves and if i did manage to get an appointment they said i’ll be looking at a couple thousand to fix it, so now i’m out 4,000 with no car, is there anything i can do.
