Is spam ganking viable?

Im normally a do a full clear first gank second type of guy but i have recently played some normals w trundle and i did more half clears into ganks and when i had time a gank bot into a counter gank mid, but this leaves a lot of cs on the table.

I also know some characters do this better like nunu and shaco but not sure if its situational or a legit tactic
