Hi everyone, I am currently 40 days post hair transplant and I wanted to share my progress from around Day 7 to Day 40.

I have noticed quite a lot of shedding over the past few weeks and honestly it has made me very sad and anxious. The amount of hair loss feels like even my native hair is becoming thin, and I don’t really understand what is happening. There are now quite a few visible bald and empty patches compared with the earlier pictures, and it is affecting my confidence a lot.

I unfortunately do not have a picture from the actual day of the transplant because my phone was dead at that time, but I have included the earliest pictures I have starting around Day 7 and continued up to Day 40. Please ignore the picture quality as I do not have a very good camera, so some images are not very clear.

I was told by ChatGPT that this can be normal in the shock loss phase where even native hair can temporarily shed, but I still feel very worried and confused about whether this is really expected or if something is going wrong.

I have my second PRP appointment tomorrow. I already had my first PRP just 7 days after the transplant. I am planning to go for the second session now and I want to be very clear with my doctor about everything I am experiencing.

I am currently taking multivitamins and using a hair growth serum. I was previously using minoxidil spray and also 2.5 mg tablets for around 3 to 4 years, but I stopped it about 6 months before the hair transplant. I did not feel it was helping me much at that time. My doctor did not prescribe finasteride, and I also avoided restarting minoxidil on my own.

At this stage, I am feeling very unsure and emotionally low because of the shedding and the visible thinning.
