Bike Accident in CP this morning

I saw a pretty terrible bike accident this morning by 96th and CPW. A runner crossed (not at a cross walk) and a group was coming down and one wiped out. 40 minutes later as I came back around, they were putting him in an ambulance. I really hope he’s okay. My heart goes out to him and his friends who I’m sure are so worried about him.

I run in the park every morning and I see so many close calls that take my breath away - off leash dogs running in front of cyclists, runners trying to get across to not break their pace and cutting it close, and bikes going so fast for such a crowded environment. This morning, it ended with a serious accident.

No one thinks it’s going to be them, but we all make split second decisions that can have serious consequences for ourselves and others. And who doesn’t get lost in their thoughts on a run. Be careful out there, and pay attention.
