Looking for gay romance films about self-acceptance and coming out (not comedies)

I've worked my way through most of the classics at this point, mostly whatever I could find on Amazon Prime, and I'm hoping some of you have deeper cuts for me.

What I'm looking for:

- Romance at the centre of the story

- Films that really sit with self-acceptance, internalised shame, the process of coming out

- Queer characters as the actual subject, not a subplot or a supporting friend

- Any country, any decade, subtitles are fine

What I'm not looking for: comedies, and anything where the gay storyline is just background texture for someone else's arc. As a reference point, I watched "The Man with the Answers" yesterday and really liked it.

Bonus points if it's streaming somewhere in Europe, but I'll take any recommendation. Thanks!
