Comics and graphic novels should not be canon for your canceled t.v. show or movie.

In the vast world, most people are not going to follow the story or keep track of plot developments by reading a comic.

If you live comics, cool. Enjoy.

Do not tease anyone with a promised return of a beloved story that was in one media and expect the same audience to follow in another.

Example, the early encarnations of The Doctor may still turn up in a radio play, but that doesn't justify changes to the T.V. show.
