So, about a week or so ago my female GCC Tootie started biting a LOT out of the blue, at first they were just playful nibbles but a bit rough so I tried giving her new toys to play with while she is out of the cage to keep her beak occupied and that worked temporarily. However over the last 2 days she has devolved into absolute aggression and become extremely territorial. She is over a year old so I expected hormones to kick in at some point but the aggression and territorialness is only to me not my wife. I have always been her favorite human and still am as she quickly flies to me the second I get home to greet me but now I get 30 seconds of cuddles and preening before it turns into an attack. My hands, my face, anything she can remove a chuck of, must be attacked. I had to rip her off of my face last night and man handle her because she tore open my lip. I dont want to give her a reason to actually want to attack my hands but I didnt have much of a choice. And she still will just come right back 30 seconds later to repeat the process of cuddle, preen me and then attack, over and over and over all the time I'm home. She wont even let me give her food without attacking me. I'm not really sure what to do at this point, I'm leaving for 2 weeks friday and dont want to be on such bad terms with her before I disappear but at this point I dont really want to let her out of the cage if she is going to be so erratic about interacting with me. Is she frustrated with me because she thinks I'm her mate? Has she just decided I'm a threat out of no where? I'm not sure how to work through this with her and dont want to reinforce this bad behaviour, I'm just so confused why she is still trying to be with me constantly only to turn on me seconds later, shes been an absolute angel up to this point and this has really come out of no where. Any advice is appreciated!
