vinted refuses to refund me and seller has the item I returned and is reselling it!!
Hi all,
I’m at my wits’ end trying to deal with Vinted customer support. It’s absolutely abysmal. They keep giving me the same copy and pasted response.
The gist of it is that I ordered a bracelet, and when it arrived, the tongue clasp wouldn’t click and stay closed. The item was also just thrown into a grey delivery bag with no padding, with only the box it came in for protection.
I contacted the seller, reported that the item was damaged, and sent it back the next day. A few days later, the seller collected the item and put in a claim saying that the box was damaged. Somehow, they were then able to keep the item AND have my money released to them.
Mind you, I actually packed the item better than the seller did. I added extra plastic protection around the box, whereas the seller had originally sent it in just a grey delivery bag with no additional padding. The box was already damaged when I received it the first time around. I took videos of me packing it and when I opened it too. So the evidence on my part was there.
I’ve been going back and forth with Vinted, but they keep copy and pasting the same response and saying there’s nothing they can do, even though my original complaint was about the BROKEN BRACELET and the seller is citing minimal damage to the box.
I’ve also checked the seller’s profile, and they have the cheek to be RESELLING the exact same broken bracelet! They’ve reuploaded it with pictures where you can clearly see the extra packaging I used to wrap it when I returned it.
I’m literally at a loss for what to do. I’ve contacted customer support multiple times and have got nowhere. I don’t think engaging with the seller directly is a good idea either. I’ve also emailed the addresses I’ve found online, but haven’t received a response.
Can anyone please advise me on what my next steps could be? I wanted to file an official complaint about the way this was investigated, but there doesn’t seem to be any option to do so.
It’s just horrific that my item and my money can effectively be taken from me, leaving me with nothing, while the seller is now selling the same broken bracelet all over again.
Any advice would be massively appreciated.
