Wood Floor Cleaning Help

So we just closed on a house (yay!) but the wood floors are SO dirty! They don’t actually look dirty, but after my kids were walking around barefoot for a bit while we did some other stuff, I noticed their feet were FILTHY 🤦🏻‍♀️ I tried google and it seems like I’m getting so much conflicting advice on the best method to give them a good initial clean, and then how to maintain them in the future.
