If you (M23) had a crush on a girl, then found out she's 17, how would you feel?
Hello, I recently found out a guy that I have always really liked is very into me.
We met at the bar he works at, and I went in to play pool. He invited me to play a few games and gave off vibes; asked me to come in more, found reasons to touch me (also had hands that were sweaty as h\\\*ll, for the record. I'm talking a \*lubricated\* handshake), laughed at everything I said and kept complimenting my terrible game-play, seemed very nervous, etc. Etc. He's also asked me to play multiple times, but for whatever reason we never could. I've caught him staring from across the bar multiple times, as well.
I could give more details of why it's obvious, but that's not the question of this post. Although, if you feel like answering, directed at men: do y'all behave like that if you're not into a girl? Seems obvious to me but I've been wrong before.
Anyway, the only problem: He's 23, I'm 17 (4 months away from 18, and he turned 23 a month ago).
I'm very into him, and have grown more so after spending more time with him, but I don't want to put him in an uncomfortable position.
Because we met in a bar, it's really easy to assume everyone's over 21. This bar does allow anyone 15+ inside alone, and it's a very small town (500 pop) so if he wanted to know about me, it'd be all too easy for him. I've also gone in there on my dad's arm multiple times (one of which times, this man rushed over to give my dad a handshake), which might make it obvious. And, I look even younger than I am. So it's possible this is no issue for him, but if you were in his position and didn't know, what would you do when you found out?
Would you be upset with the girl for not saying something? Would you break up? If you really liked her, would it not matter to you?
Also, I'm in a state where 17 is the age of consent, so no legal issues here.
With the two of us, I don't think there's a problem with the actual relationship and us as people. I just wonder if morally, that would make him very uncomfortable, and perhaps I should just end it where it's at to avoid that situation?
TLDR: If you found out that a girl you're really into is 17 (in a state where there's no legal issue), and she recipricated, would the age gap be a problem for you on a subconscious or moral level?
