GP refusing to prescribe melatonin

Just need some help from parents who found themselves in a similar situation.

My 8 year old was prescribed melatonin 3 years ago. Been taking it every night since. Our GP practice recently closed permanently and we registered with a different GP. This GP now is refusing to reissue her prescription even though it’s repeat and she’s had it for years?

I talked to 2 GPs at this practice now and likely every receptionist and they believe she doesn’t need it (she does). Is there anything else I can do except to go private which is the next best solution.
