Travelling with kids

Hey, I’m looking for some advice as I want to come with my family and two kids (5&8) to Bangkok in November. I asked the same question on a Facebook group and was laughed at. But I have seen a lot of videos of families going to Bangkok with kids and always posting things to do with them. So I’m just wondering, is it a stupid idea to travel there with children? What are some things to do and is it safe?
