Anything to do/not do when taking a taxi?

I feel like this is a dumb question, but I've never taken a taxi before, but now I'm on holiday in Armenia and need to use gg to get around. Is there anything I should do or avoid doing? I'm wondering specifically, will the driver think I'm rude if I don't make conversation or only speak in English? (my Armenian is really, really basic)
