I was looking for ways to help my daughter read faster, and this article gave me some useful ideas

My daughter’s always loved stories, but she used to drag her feet whenever it came to actually reading herself. She'd fixate on every single word, get tired halfway through a page, and just completely lose focus.

I was mostly worried about her losing confidence, so we started tweaking our routine. Instead of pushing for "faster reading," we focused on small stuff. Setting a strict 10-minute daily timer, using a tracker (or bookmark) under lines to keep her eyes moving, and dropping all distractions in the room.

We also tried out a few interactive online lessons through Brighterly just to break up the monotony. Surprisingly, having that game-like format made her way less resistant to reading time. She's definitely getting smoother with her pace now, but the biggest win is that reading isn't a massive battle every evening anymore.

What strategies actually worked for your kids when they were struggling with reading speed or focus?
